Northern
Peru provides one of the best birding experiences in the world.
The Northern Peru Birding Route extends over 800 miles in
which a staggering 1400 bird species can be seen, more than
in any other similarly sized area in the world. Northern Peru
has long been overlooked by visitors to Peru and remains perhaps
the best kept secret of the Andes. The great birding is combined
with world class archaeological sites, such as the Royal Tombs
of Sipan and the magnificent fortress of Kuelap, incredible
scenery, fascinating traditions and culture, along a journey
from the Pacific to the heart of the Amazon. With a good road
network, seven regional airports and a good variety of small
hotels and lodges the region offers a great destination.
Ultimate
